7 Random Destinations To Get Soda Pop

At one time there was a Coca-Cola museum in Las Vegas. Thousands of tourists flocked to see a literal soda fountain. But then just like the way casinos are here one day and gone the next, so went the Coca-Cola museum.

That doesn’t mean people don’t like soda pop anymore. On the contrary, people love soda pop.

I asked 7 random people where they would go in the world to drink soda pop and why:

1. Michael Hopper, ESPN Radio: “Shasta Grape soda. Rural area just outside of Pittsburgh during the Fall. They call it “pop” and the air smells like dead leaves.”

2. Johnny Guillen, KBAK news: “Berlin. It would be so cheap and I’d see wild women.”

3. Matt Munoz, Bakotopia: “You can get Faygo soda pop from Detroit at City Sandwich in EB. Insane Clown Posse (also from Detroit) use it during shows to spray fans.

4. Twitterer of @Kern Apartments: “Coke Light from South America.”

5. Karen Dalton-Beninato, New Orleans Musician’s Relief Fund: “On top of a volcano, for the fizzy redundancy.”

6. Chingpea, Face News Advice Columnist: “I want to drink a soda in Oslo, Norway. The soda label would look cool.”

7. Gina Martinez, Coffee Expert: “Caffeine Supreme [in Bakersfield, Calif.], cause you can add any Torani flavor you want, and you can even get it blended! Yummy! My pick is Torani Vanilla Coke Blended!” (Caffeine Supreme is located at 2000 F Street).

In '97 I was in Holland and they were giving out free samples of Dr. Pepper on the street. It was a "new" product for the people there. It was fun & amusing sipping my free Dr. P with first timers.

Wish the Poppe Shoppe in Bakersfield was still around, it’s been gone for decades. Best soda ever.

They moved the Coca-Cola museum to Altanta, Georgia and now they serve every product they make in the world there. Its hundreds of different flavors like apple soda, licorice, pistachio, etc.

    • yeah i've been there. i quickly learned not all soda is good. some were actually disgusting. it was very apparent that different parts of the world favor different tastes. USA likes things sweet while others liked their soda very bitter. it was interesting.
