The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have announced that five players from the 2008-09 roster have received Qualifying Offers from the team, in accordance with the ECHL July 1 deadline. Those players are D Donny Grover, RW Liam Huculak, G Jerad Kaufmann, D Jay Langager and F Matt Pope.
According to the Condors, Grover came to the Condors from Cincinnati in a mid-season trade and finished as the team’s leading scorer from the blueline, totaling 5g-26a-31pts in 68 total games. Huculak was the club’s penalty minute leader, with 168, while adding 5g-6a-11pts. Kaufmann was a rookie signing late in the season after completing his college career at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He had one start, allowing two goals on 34 shots in a shootout loss to Ontario.
Langager had 2g-12a-14pts in 31 games after signing with the team in January and served as Team Captain for the remainder of the season. Pope finished the year in the American Hockey League after setting Condors rookie records for assists and points. He racked up 30g-33a-63pts in 54 games with Bakersfield.
AHL and NHL contracted players were not eligible to receive a Qualifying Offer.
