What’s this? Something is free at the fair? Why couldn’t it be funnel cakes? Or free donkey rides? OK, OK, free immunizations are good too.
According to San Joaquin Community Hospital, from Sept. 23-Oct. 4, the San Joaquin Community Hospital Children’s Mobile Immunizations Program will be at the Kern County Fair providing free immunizations to all children.
During the week, the team will be on the grounds from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. On weekends, immunizations will be provided between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
It is important to note that in order to take advantage of these free immunizations, each child must have his/her immunizations card with them.
Hospital officials said they will stop registration 30 minutes before closing time. They also offer the Hemoglobin test for a fee of $3 per child (cash only) and require a doctor or WIC referral.
The SJCH immunization booth will be located in the Kern County Fair parking lots at “Calico Corner” located at 1142 South P Street.
