The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a man wanted for sexual assault. Police didn’t state the age of the female victim.
According to police, on Aug. 21 at 7:25 p.m., officers responded to a call of a sexual assault in the 800 block of H Street.
After an investigation, police said officers determined that a Hispanic male in his late 20s, around 5-feet, 7-inches tall, with a heavy build, a round-shaped face, black buzz-cut hair, and wearing a white T-Shirt and dark pants, sexually assaulted a female somewhere in the area.
Police said the suspect attacked and injured the female. He also displayed a knife, but did not stab or cut the female, according to police.
Officials said the suspect fled southbound on H Street in an older model, black, primer-colored Ford Ranger or Chevrolet S-10 style pickup, possibly equipped with a hydraulic suspension.
Anyone with information about this case or the identity of the suspect should call Detective Lance O’Nesky at 661-326-3557.
